Michael L. Stout, 37, of rural West Burlington, died from complications of cancer Thursday, December 18.
He was born January 25, 1949, in Burlington, the son of LeRoy and Lois Brockway Stout. On October 18, 1975, in Hamilton, Illinois, he married Lori Humphry.
Mr. Stout was a fireman paramedic at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of the Pastores Class, a member of the board of directors of Beacon House, a volunteer fireman in West Burlington, a member of the West Burlington Lions and belonged to Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Wesley and Travis; one brother, Dennis Stout of New London; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Stout of Bettendorf; and his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bratton of New London.
Visitation will between 7 and 8 p.m. Friday at the Sheagren Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at the Grace United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Reverend David Streyfeller officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, will military rites at the grave.
A memorial has been established at Sheagren Funeral Home.
